ISKRA Surge Protection - Active Components

Electronic parts Electronic components
ISKRA Zascite Surge Arresters - Active Parts IBS Electronics Global Electronics Parts and Components Distributor ISKRA Zascite was founded in 1989 in order to develop and produce surge protection devices for various applications of protecting electrical and electronic appliances in industry, business facilities and people's homes. Despite a number of different technologies which have been appearing on the market in the field of surge protection devices, Iskra Zascite has remained loyal to varistor technology and thus contributed its part to the development of this particular technology. The company also provided guidelines for the development of varistors which represent the main basic components of modern surge protection devices.

Products:

  • Low Voltage Power Systems
  • Data / Signal Systems
  • Telecommunication Systems
Applications

Lightning and surge protection of a wind turbine system

With the growing awareness of the global warming and the limits to our fossil based fuels, the need to find better renewable source of energy is becoming apparent. The use of wind energy is a rapidly growing industry. Such installation are generally located on open and elevated terrain and as such present attractive capture points for lightning discharges. If reliable supply is to be maintained it is important that sources of over-voltage damage are mitigated. Iskra Zascite provides an extensive range of surge protection devices suited to both direct and partial lightning currents.

Lightning and surge protection of a photovoltaic system

With the ever increasing effects of global warming and resultant importance of energy conservation, mankind is looking to new sources of renewable energy. Of growing importance in this new frontier is the use of photovoltaic sources. Such systems by their very nature need to be located outdoors and as such are susceptible to the effects of lightning induced damage. If safe and reliable operation is to be ensured, these systems must be protected with suitable surge protection measures.

Lightning and surge protection of a private house

Many underestimate the dangers of lighting strikes and surges generated within the system itself. Old-fashioned thinking, that lighting conductor is going to fully protect a building is unfortunately untrue. Its function is outdoor construction protection of it against damages caused by a lightning strike. For surge protection of energetic, data and telecommunication networks and also for electrical equipment which is connected to it, its necessary to use surge arresters. Besides that its also very important to do the equipotential bonding of building's metal construction and all indoor installations.

Lightning and surge protection of a sailboat

When a sailboat sails in the open sea, it's the highest object in the region. That's why it is at a high risk to lighting strikes. To assure safety of the crew and to prevent the damage, caused by a lighting strike, it's necessary to protect it with lightning and surge aressters.

Lightning and surge protection of a mobile base station

Mobile base stations are because of their towers at a high risk to lighting strikes. To assure undisturbed service for all the customers and of course to avoid the economic loss, it's necessary to protect it with lightning and surge aressters.

Lightning and surge protection of a fuel filling station

Fuel filling stations and storage tanks are by their very nature potentially hazardous facilities. As such, there is a need to ensure safety to both personnel and equipment from the dangers posed by uncontrolled surges originating from lightning discharges or other sources of over-voltages. Protection of such facilitiy usually requires consideration of the electrical environments at the following locations, and the mitigation of this via the installation of correctly selected and appropriately rated SPDs (surge protective devices). Lightning and surge protection of a railway infrastructure

The importance of ensuring that safety signal and communication systems do not fail in a railway network, is well understood. Lightning strikes and other surges can adversely effect such systems or cause complete failure. This danger can be mitigated by the strategic use of suitable surge and overvolatge protection.
