1998 Unitrode acquired Benchmarq. Benchmarq would give Unitrode Company battery-power management integrated circuit technology, which would complete Unitrode’s power management product portfolio, analysts said at the time. 1999 Texas Instruments Inc. (TI) acquired Unitrode. Unitrode became a wholly owned subsidiary of TI, operating as part of TI’s analog business unit.
