Qorvo was created on January 1, 2015, with the merger of TriQuint Semiconductor and RF Micro Devices. In June 2015, the new company became a component of the S&P 500, replacing tobacco company Lorillard. At the time of joining the S&P 500, Qorvo was valued at $12 billion.

It operates design, sales and manufacturing facilities located throughout Asia, Europe and North America. Its primary design and manufacturing facilities are located in North Carolina, Oregon, Texas and Florida, and its primary assembly and test facilities are located in China, Costa Rica and Texas.
