Common Mode Choke

A choke is an inductor that blocks high-frequency AC current in a circuit, while passing lower-frequency DC current. A choke is comprised of a coil of insulated wire that is wound onto a magnetic core, while others are comprised of a ferrite material strung on a wire. Typically, common mode choke is prefered for some projects because it can withstand DC currents. In addition, it can filter common mode electromagnetic interference (EMI) current under high currents without causing signal degradation. 

Applications for the common mode choke span over various industries, such as industrial, telecommunication, and electronics. Specifically, common mode choke is used to suppress radiation noise in electronics, countering common mode noise affecting signals in high-speed lines, USB lines for PCs, panel link lines for LCD panels, automotive applications, and more.
