Akustica / Bosch

Akustica is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Bosch Group and a top supplier of silicon microphone products that are improving voice-input quality in a host of voice-enabled applications, from mobile phones, laptops, and tablets to small wearable accessories like headsets. Akustica, Inc., a fabless semiconductor company, develops and commercializes complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS) microphones. It provides single-chip digital and analog microphones that are used in notebook personal computers, mobile phones, Internet telephone systems, headsets, speakers, cameras, and inertial and radio frequency devices for hearing, speaking, and sensing applications.

Akustica Inc. manufactures and sells silicon microphone products that are used in voice-enabled applications. Although several other MEMS microphone makers have entered the market, Akustica is so far the only company that integrates both the mechanical microphone and its supporting analog and digital circuitry onto the same CMOS chip. The company offers analog and digital microphones, and digital microphone evaluation boards. It also provides design-in, post-production quality assurance, and customer support services worldwide. In addition, the company distributes its products through a team of distributors worldwide. Its products are used in mobile phones, laptops, tablets, and headsets.

MEMS microphone pioneer Akustica Inc. was acquired by Bosch in 2009 and became part of its MEMS division, Bosch Sensortec GmbH
