HTC introduces the LM1117 series, a switching mode regulator that combines high power with energy-efficient performance that significantly lowers operational cooling needs.
The LM1117 is a low-power, positive voltage regulator designed to output 1A of current. It’s ideal for battery-powered applications, as active terminators for the SCSI bus, and portable computers. The LM1117 features very low quiescent current and exceptionally low dropout voltage of 1V at a full load, with lower voltages as output current decreases. The device is available in adjustable or fixed 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5V models and comes in a 3-pin surface mount package SOT-223

The new LM1117 series is ideal for high power applications such as server platforms, storage systems and networking equipment where thermal management is critical.
